The eighth player on my list is true freshman Kenny Logan Jr.
Logan played at Menedez HS in St. Augustine, Florida and other than Kansas held offers from Alabama, Auburn, Colorado State, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Purdue and UCF.
Per 247 Sports Logan was down to KU and UCF before his final decision of picking KU.
As you can see this guy had loads of impressive offer.
Logan is listed as an Athlete and his most notable stats came as RB as he rushed for 1,202 yards and 18 TD’s during his senior season, but will likely play DB for Kansas.
I would have him rated higher than eighth on my list but given Kansas’ depth at DB it might be difficult for him to see the field a ton during his freshman season.
But even then I’m guessing he’ll have his fair shot at getting on the field. It may not be at DB but he could definitely see time on the field on special teams.
He has quickness, speed and is a great cover corner. He also has good size for a corner as he stands 6’1 and weighs 183 lbs.
The best part about Logan is he’s so versatile and can really play either side of the ball depending on where he’s needed. He can play DB when needed or jump back over to RB if he’s needed there.
These types of players are important for Kansas as they can plug and play them with their ability to play on either side of the field.
My guess is Logan ends up staying at DB and has a solid freshman season.
I don’t look for him to get on the field at DB much, but I do expect him to be a solid contributor on special teams as either a return guy or on the defensive side.
My prediction is he ends up with close to a dozen tackles with most of those coming from playing on special teams. I could also see him getting an interception if he gets some playing time at CB during the first few games if Kansas has a large lead.
